                              VCC version 1.14
                              ****************

============================================================================
    Introduction
============================================================================

  VCC is a Vavoom C Compiler that creates progs that Vavoom uses.

============================================================================
    Using VCC
============================================================================

  VCC haves the following usage:

    vcc [options] source[.vc] [object[.dat]]

  To compile a source file (e.g. foo.vc) simply type:

    vcc foo.vc

  This will cretae a progs file named foo.dat. You can specify other output
file name like this:

    vcc foo.vc output.dat

============================================================================
    Option Descriptions
============================================================================

  The following options are recognised:

    -d<file> Output debugging information into specified file

    -a<function> Output function's ASM statements into debug file

    -b                   Use Borland's preprocessor

  The following params are passed directly to the proprocessor:

    -D<name>[=<value>]   Define macro

    -U<name>             Unefine macro

    -I<directory>        Include files directory

============================================================================
    Compiling VCC
============================================================================

  VCC has been written with portability in mind. It is purely ANSI C++.
  VCC has been known to compile and work on the following platforms:

    * Windows 98 with DJGPP 2.03.

    * Windows 98 with Borland C++ 5.5.

    * Windows 98 with Microsoft VisualC++ 6.0.

    * Linux Mandrake 8.0

DOS and LINUX
-------------

  The "makefile" makefile is for DOS, Linux and other UN*X type OSes. Simply
typing `make' should create the `vcc' executable. Currently there is no
automatic installation, just copy the vcc executable to where you want it.

Win32
-----

  The "vcc.mak" makefile is for compiling under Win32 with Borland C++ 5.5.
Assuming BCC is configured properly (the ".cfg" files it needs have been
setup), typing `make -f vcc.mak' should create the `vcc.exe' executable.
Note that VCC under Win32 is a console application and should be run from a
DOS box.
